This is actually pretty sad.  I know this is a small portion of the interview that was selected but she really disappoints me with her answers.

She showed no backbone at all and totally backed off her “mission from God” comments.  Either she believes it is or she doesn’t - she shouldn’t hide her beliefs for political expediance; were I a devout Christian I’d be disappointed she was a coward about her beliefs.

Then she tried to BS her way through the Bush Doctrine question.  I didn’t know what the Bush Doctrine was - but I’m not running for Vice President, I’m not a Governer so, while sad, it isn’t my job to know this stuff - it is her job to understand the basis of our current foreign policy decisions.

I tried to withhold any judgement about her until I heard what she actually had to say that wasn’t a stump speach - Now that I have I’m unimpressed.  My party has failed me yet again.

This guy/gal is doing something called guerilla gardening by installing Super Mario Bros block-like planters around toronto and planting flowers in them.

They add a nice touch of flair to the street and are a neat retro gamer nod.  Pretty cool in a geeky gardeny way

“Don’t bother the senior engineers for an hour when an hour of research would get you the same information: respect them. Do bother them when an hour of their time will save you all day: respect yourself. Bust your ass, and ask a lot of questions. Carry a notebook. Write everything down. Never, ever ask the same question twice.”

Honestly, the idea sounded kind of lame to me - but then I started playing around on this site and it’s addictive.  Every set of flash cards can be used to generate quick tests that have a bunch of customizations.  Now it seems like a cool idea that could really help a lot of people learn a lot of stuff.
